As Head of Research, Nick works with customers and industry influencers to power Zip’s thought leadership, product and competitive strategies. His research interests include human-machine interaction as it relates to value realization in B2B software; the ways emerging technologies are used to shape and influence business relationships; and process design and optimization, especially for procurement. A frequent conference and webinar speaker, Nick enjoys interacting with and learning from all sides of the procurement and finance tech markets to drive progress for all participants.
Prior to his role at Zip, Nick served as VP of Research at Spend Matters, where he architected new research initiatives such as an industry-first functionality benchmark for carbon management software and built the firm’s analyst training program. Nick began his procurement career as a lowly copy editor who cared probably too much about the differences between hyphens, en dashes and em dashes. A two-time graduate of Northwestern University, he holds an MSJ from the Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications.
